Elpidoforos Mantadakis is a Professor of Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the University of Crete (UoC), Greece. Professor Mantadakis received his medical degree with honors from the University of Crete School of Medicine in 1991 and his PhD from the same institution in 2004. He completed his residency training in Pediatrics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (1994–1997) and his fellowship training in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas (1997–2000). Dr. Mantadakis worked as a consultant physician (National Health System) in the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Clinic of the University Hospital of Heraklion from 2002 to 2008. From 2008 to 2013, he served as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Department of Medicine, Democritus University of Thrace. From 2013 to 2018, he served as Associate Professor of Pediatrics–Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the Department of Medicine, School of Health Sciences, Democritus University of Thrace. From 2018 until June 2026, he served as Professor of Pediatrics–Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the same department, while also serving as Director of the Pediatric Clinic at the University General Hospital of Alexandroupolis from 2022 to 2025. Since July 1, 2026, he has been working at the University of Crete.
Dr. Mantadakis, in the past, served as an elected member and subsequently as Vice President of the Hellenic Society of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. His main interest is the infections and clinical support of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology patients.
