The External Evaluation Report assesses the overall activities and achievements of the School of Medicine until 2020, making a critical analysis of whether the School has achieved its initial goals or if it needs to redefine its goals and design new strategies. The External Evaluation Report led to the Certification of the Undergraduate Study Program of the Medical School of the University of Crete by the National Authority of Higher Education (ETHAAE) for the period 2021-2025. The Medical School committed to its Goal of Excellence in Education, Research, Health promotion and with a continuous internal evaluation process, is preparing for its next Certification.

The Internal Evaluation Group of the Medical School, in addition to the regular internal evaluations it conducts by recording a large number of parameters in accordance with the OPESP framework, undertook in November 2019 the preparation of the dossier for the Accreditation of the Undergraduate Study Program (USP). During this process, not only data directly related to the quality of the USP were collected and critically analyzed, but also a comprehensive set of indicators that provide a detailed picture of the School’s infrastructure, the quality of its undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and the research performance of its faculty members.
The dossier submitted to the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE) in April 2020, on the basis of which the USP was accredited, contains all the necessary information for strategic planning and for undertaking initiatives that will elevate the Medical School to even higher levels of achievement.
