Professor Christos Lionis is a physician and global leader in primary care and public health. He served as Professor of General Practice and Primary Health Care and Director of the Clinic of Social and Family Medicine (CSFM) at the University of Crete from 1995 to 2022 and was named Professor Emeritus in 2023.
He also acted as Professor of Primary Care and Public Health at the University of Limassol, Cyprus.
Professor Lionis has led and collaborated on numerous European and international research projects, focusing on strengthening primary health care systems and advancing medical education.
He chairs the WONCA Working Party on Mental Health and serves on the editorial boards of leading international journals.
His distinctions include Honorary Fellowships from the Royal College of General Practitioners, WONCA, and the European Society of Cardiology.
With 474 PubMed-indexed publications, an h-index of 71, and 48,735 citations (AD Scientific Index, 10.11.2025), his work has shaped policy, practice, and education in Greece and worldwide.

Dr Papadaki’s main field of interest is Neutropenia, Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes and Umbilical Cord Blood applications. She had been the PI in a number of national and international Projects, she has more than 200 publications and more than 7000 citations. She has been awarded by 25 Awards for best abstract or full paper in the Hellenic Haematology Association and has received the Health Care Greek Award for the category “Research in Hospital” in 2021 and 2023.
