EumorfiaKondili is a Professor of Intensive Care Medicine at the School of Medicine of the University of Crete (UOC), Greece. She is the Director of the Department of Intensive Care Medicine at the University Hospital of Heraklion (PAGNI). Dr. Kondili received her medical degree and PhD from the University of Crete. She has been trained in Pulmonology at the Pulmonology Department of PAGNI and at Intensive Care Medicine at the Department of Intensive Care Medicine of PAGNI. She has served as a research fellow in the Department of Pulmonology at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’s Medical School in London, UK (ERS fellowship), and has been a visiting scientist at the Department of Pulmonology and Intensive Care Medicine at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada, as well as a clinical research fellow at the National Pulmonary Hypertension Service at Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College, London, UK (ERS fellowship).

Her research interests focus on mechanical ventilation, particularly on respiratory mechanics in patients receiving mechanical ventilation, patient-ventilator interaction, and sleep disorders in critically ill patients. She has served as a local coordinating investigator in national and international research projects and coordinates under the supervision of the National transplantation organization the organ donation process at PAGNI. She has published over 90 articles, more than 3,000 references, and authored over 20 chapters in international publications. Additionally, she is a reviewer for several international journals. She has received 10 awards for best abstract at Greek conferences and has been granted three research grants. She is a member of the E-Learning Committee (ELC) of the European Society for Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) and serves on the organizing and steering committee of the ESICM training program, “Intensive Care Fundamentals.”
