The in-person segment of the Erasmus BIP (Blended Intensive Programme) focusing on Cognitive Disorders was successfully completed. It took place from May 5 to May 9, 2025, at the Postgraduate Studies Amphitheater of the Medical School of the University of Crete. The program brought together medical students and professors from five countries: Portugal (University of Coimbra), Spain (Catholic University of Valencia), Turkey (Acibadem University, Istanbul), Bulgaria (Medical University of Sofia), Greece (University of Crete Medical School) creating a dynamic and international educational environment.
The University of Crete coordinated the program overall, with Associate Professor of Neurology, Dr. Ioannis Zaganas, serving as the Scientific Coordinator on behalf of the Medical School. Throughout the week, the program included: lectures by prominent scientists visits to research laboratories, clinical units, and day centers interactive activities between students and faculty. The in-person part concluded with an excursion to Spinalonga and a dinner in Fourni, Lasithi, offering participants a chance to experience the cultural heritage and natural beauty of Crete.
