Niki Mastrodimou is a member of the Laboratory Teaching Staff (LTS) of the Medical School of the University of Crete and teaches in the Undergraduate Chemistry and Biochemistry Laboratories.
She is a graduate of the Department of Chemistry of the University of Crete and holds a PhD from the Department of Medicine of the University of Crete.

– Doctorate (PhD) from the Department of Medicine, School of Health Sciences, University of Crete.

Development of models of retinopathy (e.g. diabetic retinopathy) in rodents, in vivo and in vitro. Use of the models to study the neuroprotective effects of various analogues such as somatostatiners, cannabinoids, neurotrophins and NO inhibitors. Pharmacological characterization of substances with binding studies.
