Michail Chamilos graduated from Athens University Medical School in 1995. He was trained in Cardiology in the Cardiology Clinic of the University Hospital of Heraklion from 2000-2004. He received his PhD thesis from the University of Crete in 2008. He worked in the Cardiology Clinic of the University Hospital of Heraklion from 2004-2006 as a junior staff member and from 2008 until today as a senior staff member. From 2006-2008 he worked as a Clinical & Research Fellow at Cardiovascular Center Aalst in Belgium. His main occupation at present is at the catheterization laboratory of the Cardiology clinic, performing routine and complex coronary and structural interventions. He is president- elect of the working group of Interventional Cardiology of the Hellenic Society of Cardiology. His main research interests are pathophysiology of the coronary endothelium and coronary circulation, antiplatelet therapy and complex coronary interventions.
