Mr. Alexandros Andreou, Assistant Professor of Surgery, graduated from the Medical School of the University of Crete in 2006. He subsequently completed his training at the General Surgery Department of the University Hospital of Heraklion, obtaining his General Surgery specialty title in 2016, as well as the European Title (Fellow of the European Board of Surgery, FEBS) in the same year.
He then pursued further training in Upper Gastrointestinal, Hepatobiliary, and Pancreatic Surgery at hospitals in the United Kingdom, where he also worked as a Consultant Surgeon for several years. He holds a PhD from the Medical School of the University of Crete, specializing in Geriatric Surgery, and also earned a Master’s degree (MSc) in Medical Education from Hull York Medical School (HYMS).
Mr. Andreou is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of the United Kingdom (FRCS) and serves as a lead trainer for the College. He is also an active member of several European surgical societies. His research interests focus on Geriatric Surgery, data synthesis, and Medical Education. He has an extensive research and publication record, actively contributing to the scientific community.
