The core activities of the Laboratory of Vision and Optics include education, as this is how it fulfills its academic mission.

This sector brings together those activities of the LVO that relate to education and conferences. Education and continuing training are implemented through the preparation of doctoral dissertations, the teaching of courses within the framework of the postgraduate program “Vision and Optics,” the organization of specialized international educational seminars on modern techniques in eye surgery, diagnostic methods and eye optics, the organization of a summer school on optics and vision, and the organization of specialized conferences.
Education in Ophthalmology
The education offered by the LVO includes the organization of specialization and lifelong learning seminars, the organization of clinical tutorials within the program of national and international conferences, and the organization of clinical seminars in collaboration with the Ophthalmology Clinic of the University General Hospital of Heraklion (PAGNI). As part of these seminars, trainees can also have a short practical training period.
